17th-century Dutch painting (Rembrandt, Rubens, Brueghel), 17th and 18th-century Italian, French and Austrian painting as well as works by 19th-century Austrian masters (Waldmüller, Amerling, Makart, Ender). The permanent exhibition is completed by regular special exhibitions.
Please note: Due to the construction work for the special exhibition “The colours of la Serenissima. Venetian masterpieces from Titian to Canaletto” (21.6.2024-6.1.2025), the Residenzgalerie will be closed from 15.5. to 20.6. inclusive. Instead, visit our current special exhibition “Holy Places – Views by Hubert Sattler (1817-1904)” in the North Oratory, which exhibits large-format oil paintings by the cosmorama artist in line with Sattler’s travel routes!
The paintings are presented in 11 rooms of the former archiepiscopal Residenz.
